Across the street from the U.S. Capitol building, the Honeywell Technology Experience is an interactive executive briefing center, full of advanced multimedia exhibits and media designed to showcase Honeywell's capabilities to their high-level government and private-sector customers.
I directed a wide-screen overview video for the surround-sound theater, showcasing all of Honeywell's business sectors.
I also designed and produced a motion graphics piece for the 15-screen video wall that greets guests as they enter, along with dozens of short video segments that played on interactive "i-walls". When guests slide a rail-mounted monitor over a product mounted on the wall, video pops up and informs visitors about the product.
Macro Trends Videowall
Entering the main theater, visitors pass by a 15-screen curved motion graphics video wall, illustrating the worldwide macro trends Honeywell's businesses address.
Because guests pass within just a few feet of the wall, it was important that the monitors displayed in clean high-definition. That deterred us from the usual practice of using a videowall processor to blow up an HD image across all of the monitors. Instead, this wall is fed by eight synchronized HD sources, each feeding a pair of monitors. The resulting image, at 10k resolution is stunning, even if you walk right up to it.
In addition to the motion graphics, I created its accompanying soundscape.
Theater Presentation-"A Day in the Life of Honeywell"
Most people have heard of Honeywell, but have no idea how the company touches their daily lives in so many ways. "A Day in the Life of Honeywell" followed a woman through her routine, revealing Honeywell's not-so-obvious presence in all of our lives. This production played in the widescreen theater, and featured a 5.1 surround soundtrack.
