The video I made to play in the theater at Honeywell Life Safety's briefing center is one of my all time favorite projects. It takes a potentially dry subject like safety goggles and hardhats, and brings out the story of passion for human life that lives within Honeywell's business culture. The movie plays on a huge square screen in the center's theater.
The piece is made from a mix of two discrete elements: Actors wearing the safety gear, shot on green screen, and composited into stock footage scenes of their working environments, improvising lines about the dangers of their jobs.
Next, we interviewed several Honeywell employees about their passion for their mission to help workers come home from their jobs safely every day. These interviews were brought to life by fast-paced still photography of these employees at work.
The result is an impactful story of of a business's passion for preserving life.
I also shot still photos of the actors for the giant banners hanging at the entrance, also on green screen, and composited them into stock photos of their work environments. This technique looked very dramatic and realistic, and provided huge cost savings over traveling to shoot in exotic work locations.
