At Lockheed Martin’s Global Vision Center in Arlington, VA, guests are greeted by a literal “global vision”… a 9-foot diameter video sculpture of the earth, featuring 61 monitors forming a mosaic of the continents.

High resolution video plays interactively over entire hemispheres, or each of the monitors can display its own individual content.

The globe shows visitors action-packed stories of Aegis missile cruisers, F-35 fighters and other advanced technologies.

I directed and edited the content for this production, which took nearly a year. Because nothing like this had been done before, the creatives, the designers, the AV team along with my production/post team had to develop a workflow from scratch. We even had to consult with a cartographer to ensure that we accurately mapped the satellite globe animation correctly over the sculpture.

One of the most exciting parts of this project for me was, while shooting aerial footage of a US Navy Aegis missile cruiser at sea, I  temporarily took command of the ship, radioing course and turning instructions to the bridge from my helicopter. It doesn't get any more fun than that!
